Grouping allows you to combine several objects into a grouped object or a path into an object. When objects are grouped, they can’t be moved or modified accidentally.
Ungrouping can be used to separate a grouped object into individual objects, or a single object into path components (except text and graph objects).
Note: A graph object is grouped and ungrouped using the Group Graph command (Graph menu).
Grouping Objects
A single set of selection handles appears around a grouped object.
Step 1
Select one or more objects in the graph window.
Step 2
Choose Group (Cmd-G) from the Arrange menu.
Ungrouping Objects
A grouped object may contain objects, paths, imported objects, graph objects, and/or text objects. When you ungroup a grouped object, it is separated into individual objects with selection handles. When you ungroup a single object, it is separated into its path components.
